- "Legend posits that this is an offshoot of the forge used by Hephaestus, the blacksmith of the gods, to hammer out his mythic weapons."
- —Team Witness[src]
The Eternal Flame or the Promethean Flame is a fire sparked by a nexus of primal energy that has the power to create and destroy supernatural artifacts and relics of gods, including the Totems of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
History[]
Destruction[]
Lara tried to destroy the Turricula Ignis; the Totem of War, in the lake where a web of ley lines was located, but she was stopped by Jobe and Malcolm Dreyfuss before she could succeed and the Eternal Flame had been extinguished. Given it is an eternal flame, it is doubtful it has been permanently destroyed.
Trivia[]
Production Notes[]
- Ichabod Crane mentioned that the lake where the Eternal Flame was located is an offshoot of Hephaestus, the Greek God who made weapons for the Olympian Gods from Greek Mythology.
- Lara has mentioned that Eternal Flame was created by Vulcanus; a god from Roman Mythology.
- The Eternal Fire ordinarily has a red color, but when it is activated by a spell to create or destroy supernatural weapons, it transforms into a glowing blue hue which is very similar with Greek Fire.
