General George Washington was the first President of the United States of America, serving from 1789 to 1797, and a dominant military and political leader of the United States from 1775 to 1799.

History[]

Pre-series[]

He led the American victory over Great Britain in the American Revolutionary War as commander-in-chief of the Continental Army from 1775 to 1783, and presided over the writing of the Constitution in 1787. Washington became the first president by unanimous choice, and oversaw the creation of a strong, well-financed national government that maintained neutrality in the wars raging in Europe, suppressed rebellion and won acceptance among Americans of all types. His leadership style established many forms and rituals of government that have been used since, such as using a cabinet system and delivering an inaugural address. Washington is universally regarded as the "Father of his country".

Season 1[]

Prior the American Revolutionary War, Washington, as a colonel of the Virginia militia[1], recruited former British Army officer, Lieutenant Ichabod Crane to their cause as a spy[2] after Arthur Bernard's death.[3]

Following Crane's defection, Washington then sent Crane and a company of the Virginia militia to Boston on December 16th, 1773 to retrieve a mysterious item. Crane and his men were successful in retrieving the item. Washington then hid it at a church in Sleepy Hollow and hid the map in a Sextant.[1]

When the War started, Washington then promoted Crane to the rank of Captain. During the war, Washington believed that the British had allied with a witch, Serilda of Abaddon and her coven.[4] In 1781, Washington then told Crane the real reason behind the Revolution. He also gave Crane a mission; to kill a unknown Hessian mercenary in the Hudson Valley.[2]

The Indispensable Man

Crane, Abbie, and Henry explore Washington's Tomb.

Before he officially died[5], Washington devised a plan that would allow him to create a map to Purgatory. Thus, after he officially died on December 14, 1799, Reverend Alfred Knapp and several others were able to use a set of Prayer Beads to bring Washington back to life for four days. In that time, Washington was able to create a map of Ley lines that intersected in Sleepy Hollow. Before he died, he then left a message for Crane in his bible. Washington was then buried by Knapp in a tomb on Bannerman Island near Sleepy Hollow.[6]

Trivia[]

  • Washington's teeth were made from gold, ivory, and lead as was shown in "The Indispensable Man". Ichabod stated that they were the envy of every man in Virginia, but never knew Martha Washington's thoughts about them.
