The personal journal of Grace Martha Dixon was recorded during the 18th century to include personal notes, insights, hexes, spells and speculation on the enemy in the war between good and evil she was engaged in.
It was first seen in the episode Mama, it had been in the possession of Grace's descendant, Lori Mills, and had been in a storage bin in Terrytown Psychiatric hospital for almost 15 years. Lori's spirit directed her daughters to it and it was recovered and used by Jenny Mills to dispel a vicious, murderous spirit that had kept Lori's spirit prisoner for years.
The journal was then moved to Crane's Archive, and there kept as a resource for the Witnesses.

In Tempus Fugit, Abbie was able to visit Grace in person and see the journal first hand still in the writer's possession. From it Grace made the spell that would restore the timeline Katrina tried to disrupt.
