Gunther was a member of The Shadow Warriors. He was killed after he bit into a cyanide pill.

Under disguise, Gunther was introduced as a piano tutor teaching a child. He got a call from one of his associates who told him that Jenny Mills had escaped Tarrytown Psychiatric Hospital. He tracked down Wendel Clark, a known friend of Jenny, at his bar. After Wendel refused to say anything, he gave in, however Gunther, Armin, and Hagen continued to torture him. Clark was killed and his decapitated head was left on the pool table. They eventually tracked Jenny to Trout lake to find the sextant map that led to The Lesser Key of Solomon. After a shootout, Armin and Hagen escaped with the sextant while Gunther was held captive. After revealing that the Shadow Warriors were seeking the Lesser Key of Solomon and that there were many more Hessians, Gunther bit down on a cyanide pill. His last words were "Moloch shall rise" in German ("Moloch wird auferstehen").[1]
