"She got hurt. The doctors told my parents they don't think my sister's gonna wake up. I'm her big sister. I was supposed to protect her. This is all my fault."
—Saffron Paynter to Jenny Mills[src]

Saffron Paynter is a minor character who appears in the episode, The Sisters Mills. Saffron's sister was attacked by the Abyzou, and although the doctors diagnosed the little girl as being in a coma, Saffron claimed that she saw a demon attack her sister.

Abyzou[]

Saffron and Tessa Paynter, were in their room, giggling and drawing under the sheet when their father comes in and sends them to bed. Once he leaves, the older girl, Saffron, sees a creature on top of her sister, Tessa, drawing energy from her face. Her screams alert her parent who find an unconscious child and take her to hospital where she seen as in a coma.

At the hospital, Pandora, disguised as a nurse, assures Saffron that her sister will be just fine. Abbie and Jenny then arrive and introduce themselves. Jenny tells Saffron that she is very brave to tell people about the monster, and assures the girl that they are there to listen and believe. Saffron tells Jenny that the doctors don't think Tessa will wake up, and she blames herself for her sister's condition. Jenny assures her she is not, and Tessa loves her and no monster can change that.

Once Jenny leaves, Pandora enters and tells Saffron that other adults don't believe her, but she does, and says that she knows what Saffron can do to make Tessa better. Pandora then gives Saffron a silk pouch and smiles. Saffron goes to her tree house, puts Tessa's teeth on the floor, and waits for the Abyzou.

When it drops in and attacks her, Ichabod arrives and fires a shot of silver nitrate. The substance reveals the Abyzou, and Ichabod kicks it out the window to were Jenny is waiting with an axe.
